Event Overview
The Most Influential Tech Event in the WorldCES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the world's largest electronics exhibition held annually in Las Vegas, USA, every January. It serves as a platform for leading global companies and innovative startups in future technology to showcase their new visions and engage in advanced technological exchanges.
Role of ITVC
ITVC operates the KAIST booth at CES, contributing to promoting the outstanding technologies of KAIST-related companies, including KAIST faculty and student startups, KAIST technology transfer companies, and alumni companies, on a global scale. In the future, ITVC will actively collaborate with external organizations and groups to play a key role at CES.

- CES 2023, held on the largest scale since the pandemic, recovered to 70-80% of the pre-COVID level. A total of 174 countries participated, with an estimated 35% registration from non-US countries.

Technological convergence and innovation that enhance the quality of human life are expected to gain further attention.
- Total visitors to KAIST booth : Approximately 1,300
- Major technology fields of visitors : AI, IoT/Sensors, AR/VR/XR, Robotics
- In comparison to CES 2022 (with 10 participating companies), the KAIST booth expanded its scale with 12 participating companies in CES 2023. Among them, Fluiz and Hills Robotics received CES 2023 Innovation Awards. Additionally, although not an official booth participant the student startup Blinkers was given the opportunity to showcase its product Wine Safe.
- Members of the National Assembly, including Seong-joong Park, Seung-rae Cho, Hyang-ja Yang, Jung-min Hong, and Daejeon Mayor Jang-Woo Lee, visited the booth to witness the innovative technologies of participating companies. Key representatives from ITVC and participating companies were also invited to attend a corporate meeting, where discussions about collaboration for CES 2024 preparations with Daejeon City took place.

- CES 2022 was held amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in a globally subdued participation compared to the previous CES 2020 (CES 2021 was primarily conducted through online participation).

- This year, four companies, namely TEGWAY, LiBEST, Sherpa Space, and The Wave Talk, received innovation awards.
- Various social figures, including the CEO of Chosun Ilbo, Governor Hee-ryong Won of Jeju, President Yeong-cheol Seok of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, and POSTECH President, witnessed the innovative technologies of the participating companies.
- A meeting between KAIST and Seongnam City was held for KAIST representatives and members of the city council to discuss measures for future collaboration.
- Five out of the ten participating companies from KAIST, namely, Dexelion, DolbomDream, Avatar, TEGWAY, and TEEware, were selected for the CES 2022 Innovation Awards, gaining domestic and international recognition for the excellence of their technologies.
